Can AI build a pitch deck?
The answer is: sort of, but not really.
It's fast and easy, but before you try to use AI to build your pitch deck, remember a few important drawbacks:

You'll end up with 'cookie cutter' content:
AI is only as good as the data it's been trained on. In our experience, AI follows templates too closely, lacks originality or the ability to develop a compelling narrative.

Authentic investor story telling is critical:
The fundraising market has never been more competitive. Investors are inundated with opportunities. Authentic, unique pitches that tell a compelling story are the ones that stand out.

AI isn't good at strategy ( ...or specifics):
Investors want tangible milestones, and to understand how your business will reach customers. Vague AI-generated detail is usually obvious and not quite good enough (yet).

It isn't accurate enough:
Believe us, we've tried. Mistakes or dodgy data will undermine your pitch in an instant. Be wary of trusting AI generated market data.

The visuals aren't good enough:
Your deck should tell the story of your brand, visually. AI generated graphics and design are improving by the day, but aren't good enough yet. They also don't align with your brand closely enough.
We're just as excited about AI as everyone, but we have not yet found a solution that uses AI effectively enough to generate pitch decks that actually tell compelling investor stories.
Will this change? Of course. As we enter an era of generative AI the tech will improve to the point that it is possible to build a pitch deck using AI.
